Wedding dresses from your favorite TV shows, which impress with their originality

12 Jul 2023

Fictional weddings in movies or series have always shown us a wide selection of wedding dresses. And they did not always meet the classic standards of a standard white dress. Very often on the screen you can see such an unusual wedding outfit that makes your head spin. Let's consider the most original of them in this article.

1. Veronica, Riverdale

Veronica's dress cannot be called extremely horrible. From the waist down, it looks very elegant, thanks to the flowing fabric with a small train. However, the coarse flowers on top greatly spoil the dress and make it unattractive and not sophisticated enough. The overall look should have appeared delicate and girly, but the designers went overboard with the embellishments, so we have classified the heroine's dress as one of the unsuccessful movie wedding outfits.

2. Maggie, Runaway bride

In the movie Runaway Bride, Julia Roberts changed wedding dresses multiple times. However, not all of the looks can be considered successful. In particular, this seemingly simple dress did not impress the audience, as it was supposed to make a splash but instead simplified the bride's image. The bow on the veil made the heroine look childish, as did the gloves, which were clearly unnecessary. In the end, the bride's look in the film became one of the most unsuccessful in cinema history.

3. Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City

Carrie Bradshaw's wedding dress, designed by British designer Vivienne Westwood, is renowned for its unique and unconventional style. Featured in the movie Sex and the City, the dress became an iconic symbol of Carrie's individuality and daring fashion choices. However, it cannot be said that this dress is 100% successful. Opinions among viewers and fashion experts are divided. Some consider the image legendary because it suits Carrie, while others tend to believe that it is too extravagant and sloppy due to the layered fabrics. The most unsuccessful element of the look was the feather veil, which raises more questions than answers.

4. Jessa Johansson, Girls

The designers chose an original boho-style wedding dress for Jessa. The dress is intended to demonstrate a casual aesthetic with flowing layers, intricate lace details, and ethereal fabrics. However, the dress looks baggy and loses all the festivity of the event on the heroine. There are many ill-considered details, such as if the dress was longer or accentuated the waist with an elegant belt, the look could be called successful, but unfortunately, as it is now…

5. Kate Beckett, Castle

Once this wedding dress was adorned with a sheer silver bodice covered in an incredible number of sequins and beads, it immediately lost all possible elegance and became a fashion disaster. The look now appears chaotic and outdated due to the excessive amount of unnecessary details. The once beautiful and sophisticated dress now appears overwhelmed by unnecessary details, losing its original charm and appeal. The overall effect is a disappointing fashion disaster that fails to capture the timeless beauty that was initially intended for Kate Beckett's wedding day.

6. Katniss Everdeen, Catching Fire

This wedding dress looks very original, but the question arises as to how comfortable it is due to a large amount of decor and feathers. The ruffled trim on the hem of the gown does not add elegance, but rather layering and bulkiness. The impression is that the designers wanted to impress the audience too much, so they resorted to the maximal decoration of the look, which turned out to be excessive and inappropriate.

7. Lily Aldrin, How I Met Your Mother

Another unsuccessful wedding look comes from the designers of Lily Aldrin from How I Met Your Mother. The first thing that catches the eye is the bow, which is unclear why it was placed at the waist, as it is completely inappropriate here. The dress looks cheap and hastily stitched. The corset does not provide any support to the back and cinches the waist too tightly, which only distorts the overall look. This dress is an example of poor taste and a testimony to uninteresting wedding attire.

8. Pam Beesly, The Office

The dress itself lacked any notable design elements and appeared plain and unremarkable. The overall silhouette did not flatter her figure and seemed ill-fitting, failing to showcase her natural beauty. The choice of fabric also left much to be desired. The material seemed cheap and lacked the luster and elegance one would expect for a wedding gown. The lack of attention to detail was evident in the simplistic and unimaginative design. Additionally, the dress lacked any unique or standout features. It felt underwhelming and failed to make a memorable statement. The lack of creativity in the design left Pam's wedding dress looking dull and uninspired.

9. Suze, Confessions of a Shopaholic

Suze's wedding dress from Confessions of a Shopaholic was undeniably an unsuccessful choice. The dress seemed to have been overwhelmed by excessive embellishments and extravagant details. The heavy adornments and unnecessary layers made the dress appear chaotic and disorganized. The fit of the dress was also less than flattering. It seemed ill-fitted in certain areas, accentuating the wrong features and failing to highlight Suze's natural beauty. The silhouette lacked elegance and sophistication, making the overall look appear unpolished and unrefined.

10. Sophie Kachinsky, 2 Broke girls

This dress can definitely be described as "too much." There's just an excessive amount of everything: the fabric that gives an incredible shine, the unnecessary extravagance, the feathers, and the glitter. It's a case of going overboard. Perhaps the designers intentionally pursued this goal to highlight the protagonist's super brightness, but even in such a case, the overall image appears overloaded and excessively pompous.

11. Shelby, Steel Magnolias

The dress with open shoulders suits the main character, emphasizing her grace and elegance. However, the flowers that the designers inexplicably wove into the dress straps are definitely inappropriate. The shiny material of the outfit also makes it look like a cheap choice. And of course, the old-fashioned hairstyle and the veil that appears to have been accidentally attached to her hair are not working. I think removing the excess and refining the image a bit will make it shine in new colors.

12. Liz Lemon, 30 rock

Liz Lemon, the beloved protagonist of the TV show 30 Rock, is known for her quirky and relatable personality. However, when it came to her wedding dress, things took a turn for the worse. The dress, unfortunately, turned out to be a failed attempt at capturing Liz's unique style and ended up being far from her envisioned bridal look. First and foremost, the design of the dress missed the mark. It lacked the elegance and sophistication one would expect for a wedding gown. Instead, it seemed to embody a mishmash of different elements that didn't quite come together harmoniously.

13. Cece, New Girl

Cece, the stylish and confident character from the TV show New Girl, had impeccable taste when it came to fashion. However, even someone with her fashion sense can sometimes experience a fashion faux pas, as seen with her failed wedding dress. Cece's wedding dress had the potential to be a stunning reflection of her beauty and personality, but unfortunately, it missed the mark. One of the glaring issues with the dress was the fit. It seemed ill-fitting and failed to flatter Cece's figure, making her appear less radiant and elegant than expected on her special day. The dress didn't accentuate her curves or highlight her best features, leaving her looking somewhat shapeless.

14. Jess, New Girl

Jess's wedding dress left much to be desired. While the majority of the dresses featured in this article had an abundance of elements and decorations, this one was too simple and unpretentious. However, as a result, the dress didn't look bridal or festive at all; on the contrary, it appeared very plain. Perhaps if the dress were longer and had shorter sleeves, the look would have been more interesting and elegant. However, the show's stylists decided otherwise.

15. Araminta, Crazy Rich Asians

The expectations for Araminta's wedding dress were understandably high, considering her status and reputation. Unfortunately, the dress fell short of those expectations. One of the main issues with the dress was its design. Rather than exuding a sense of timeless beauty, the dress seemed to be a misguided attempt at being avant-garde. It featured an overly complicated and unconventional silhouette that failed to showcase Araminta's natural grace and poise.

16. Jackie,That ’70s Show

In this image, we see actress Mila Kunis as Jackie on That '70s Show, who interestingly ended up marrying her co-star, Ashton Kutcher. In this particular episode, Jackie dons a retro-inspired cream wedding dress, reminiscent of the '70s fashion era. The gown showcases a floor-length silhouette adorned with full-length bell sleeves, a high lace neck, and illusion panels gracing the arms and chest. Completing the look is a white cathedral veil. While the dress itself isn't inherently terrible, it does appear overly mature and serious for a young character like Jackie. The ensemble seems to lack the youthful vibrancy and playfulness that one might expect for a character of her age.

17. Kimmy, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

In the series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Ellie Kemper portrays a character who endured years of captivity in an underground cult, resulting in a unique outlook on life. As she adjusts to her newfound freedom, Kimmy grapples with reconciling her whimsical approach to life with the deep-rooted trauma she experienced. In the show's interactive special, viewers are presented with different choices that lead to various outcomes. In one of these scenarios, Kimmy opts for a brightly colored, layered, and ruffled wedding gown in a vibrant pink hue, paired unconventionally with sneakers. While the ensemble certainly aligns with Kimmy's quirky personality, it doesn't quite hit the mark in terms of aesthetic appeal.

18. Jenny, Forrest Gump

In the comedy-drama Forrest Gump, Robin Wright's character goes through various style transformations, depicting different eras and trends. From her portrayal as a disheveled-haired child to a '60s hippy and a '70s disco glamour enthusiast, her character Jenny showcases a range of fashion choices. However, for her wedding to her childhood friend, Jenny opts for a Southern bohemian-inspired gown. The wedding dress in question is a full-length gown with long sleeves and layers of ethereal, flowing fabric. While Robin Wright undoubtedly looks stunning in a flower crown, some may find the gown underwhelming for a character known for her sense of fashion. Furthermore, the baggy chest area of the dress might not resonate well with certain viewers, considering it deviates from a more form-fitting and flattering silhouette.

19. Cristabel – The Hottie and the Nottie

In the 2009 film The Hottie and the Nottie, Paris Hilton takes on the role of the "hottie." It's hardly surprising, right? However, this movie is infamous for being considered one of the worst ever made and has even received several Razzie awards. In one scene of the film, Paris' character, Cristabel, dons a truly horrendous wedding gown. Although the dress is intended for a costume party, that fact doesn't salvage its lack of appeal. Even the stunning Paris Hilton can't make the embroidered cream bodice of this princess-like ruffled dress appear attractive. Regrettably, it simply falls short in terms of fashion and allure.

20. Leslie Knope, Parks and Recreation

It can be challenging to admit, but we understand that some may not find fictional government worker Leslie Knope's dress appealing, despite the meaningful story behind it. Amy Poehler's character faces a wedding dress mishap and ends up with one created from relevant news stories. While this is a heartwarming gesture and adds an interesting twist to the show, it may not be considered fashion-forward. However, it's worth noting that the short '50s silhouette of the dress suits Leslie's character quite well, and we appreciate the nod to that era. In that regard, Leslie's choice of silhouette is commendable.

21. Cosette, Les Misérables

Certainly! In the musical and film adaptation of Les Misérables, which takes place in 19th century France during a time of revolution and turmoil, Amanda Seyfried's character, Cosette, dons a wedding dress that can only be described as a poufy pink abomination. The gown features gigot sleeves, a high waist, layers of lace, adorned with bows and ruffles, and a crinoline skirt. While this style is representative of the fashion trends of the 1830s, it manages to create an unfortunate juxtaposition for Cosette, making her appear simultaneously elderly and childlike in nature.

22. Betsy, Betsy’s Wedding

Let's take a moment to examine this extravagant wedding scene from the 1990s. Betsy's Wedding showcases Alan Alda's character in a state of panic over his daughter's impending marriage. Interestingly, the film was based on the wedding of Alda's own daughter, but unfortunately, it was poorly received. Even Joe Pesci prefers to avoid discussing this movie altogether. In the romantic comedy, Betsy, portrayed as a fashion student, insists on designing her own wedding gown. The outcome is nothing short of a catastrophic ensemble, complete with a top hat, excessive ruffles, and white wedding boots.

23. April, Parks and Recreation

Among the dresses featured on this list, there are several that lean towards a casual aesthetic. While we don't have any objections to opting for simplicity or informality when saying "I do," we can't help but wish that the characters had chosen something more in line with their personal style. In other words, we believe that the costume designers could have made slightly different choices in these instances. For instance, the moody character April Ludgate donned a simple white frock for her surprise wedding. However, we have doubts about whether April would even choose to wear white, and we envision her opting for something with a slightly more rock 'n' roll vibe. Just expressing our thoughts on the matter!

24. Haley, Modern Family

Throughout the years, viewers have witnessed the character of Haley Dunphy undergo a significant transformation on the show Modern Family, evolving from a troubled teenager to a mature and well-adjusted adult. Initially portrayed as a popular high schooler, Haley eventually becomes a mother of twins. When she hastily tied the knot with her long-term boyfriend Dylan, Haley opted for a boho-inspired pink wedding dress. While it's understandable that the wedding was impromptu and Haley was pregnant at the time, some fans couldn't help but feel that her fashion-forward nature deserved a gown with more intricate detailing. After all, Haley has always been portrayed as a fashionista, and her wedding dress might have been an opportunity to showcase her style with more flair.

25. Kimmy, My Best Friend’s Wedding

Cameron Diaz is undoubtedly a stunning actress, but her character's wedding gown in the 1997 rom-com My Best Friend's Wedding did not quite live up to her beauty. In the film, Diaz's character Kimmy is preparing to marry Dermot Mulroney's character, who happens to be pursued by Julia Roberts' character, his best friend. Kimmy's wedding dress is intentionally designed to be fussy and reflective of her character's personality. The gown itself features an array of peculiar ruching, folds, and tufts of fabric, adding to its overall unconventional appearance. While the dress may have suited the era and the comedic genre of the film, it falls short of being considered an aesthetically pleasing wedding gown. We can attribute its design to the fashion trends and the specific character portrayal in the movie.

26. Clementianna, Mirror Mirror

The costume design in the fantasy comedy Mirror Mirror received an Oscar nomination, showcasing the talent behind the creations. However, while we acknowledge that the dress in question is not poorly made or designed, it undeniably falls into the category of being utterly hideous as a wedding gown. In the movie, the dress is worn by Julia Roberts' character, the villainous Queen Clementianna. The gown's highly ornate nature gives it an appearance that is both feathered and covered in jagged daggers. While this design perfectly suits the sinister persona of a fairy tale villain, it lacks the attractiveness typically associated with wedding attire.

27. Carrie, Four Weddings and a Funeral

While we acknowledge that there are dresses on this list that may be worse, we can't simply overlook this one. In the film Four Weddings and a Funeral, we encounter Carrie, portrayed by Andie McDowell. It's worth noting that this movie, like the previous one mentioned, is also directed by Richard Curtis, which leads one to wonder about the director's taste in wedding dresses. Our primary concern with this particular outfit is the lack of coherence between its various elements. The long gloves seem ill-suited for the gown's scalloped neckline and straight silhouette, creating a mismatched overall look.

28. Miss Havisham, Great Expectations

Helena Bonham Carter, the talented English actress, has a remarkable talent for portraying eccentric and gothic characters. Her captivating performances have even been deemed "inspirational" by the costume designer of the film Great Expectations. In this particular movie, she takes on the role of a spinster who spends her life donning a deteriorated and tattered wedding gown. Interestingly, Helena reportedly felt nervous about assuming the part, as Miss Havisham is typically portrayed by an elderly woman. However, the director of the film reassured her that the character in Charles Dickens' original novel is actually in her forties, granting Helena the opportunity to bring her unique interpretation to the role.

29. Rachel, Friends

While Jennifer Aniston is undeniably a cherished actress, and her character Rachel Green from Friends holds a special place in our hearts, it's important to acknowledge that her wedding dress choice in the show was less than stellar. The gown in question exudes a strong 1980s vibe, complete with a somewhat disorganized veil and headpiece combination. Considering that Friends aired in the 1990s, Rachel's fashion-forward nature would have likely led to a different, more contemporary choice. Interestingly, the costume designer, Debra McGuire, had to search through the Warner Brothers costume department to find this particular wedding dress. Subsequently, for later flashbacks, they had to recreate the gown to maintain consistency.

30. Lucy, Two Weeks Notice

We have a deep admiration for Two Weeks Notice, the romantic comedy featuring Sandra Bullock as a brilliant lawyer and Hugh Grant as a dependent billionaire. Nevertheless, we are not fond of Lucy's wedding attire choice. While we understand the nod to Audrey Hepburn's timeless style, it seems out of place in a movie set in 2002, not 1962! There is a way to incorporate vintage elements without appearing like you're donning a costume. In our opinion, this wedding ensemble would benefit from a slightly shorter skirt, a raised waistline, and a pillbox veil.

31. Paige, The Vow

This fictional wedding dress unquestionably challenges several style conventions. To begin with, it deviates from the traditional white color by opting for a pink hue. Furthermore, it breaks with the norm by being short in length. Lastly, the dress is adorned with applique flowers, which may not resonate well with everyone's taste. While the flirty concept behind the gown is intriguing, a few adjustments would be necessary for us to fully embrace it. The sweetheart neckline and ruched bust would benefit from removal, as they detract from the overall aesthetic. Additionally, the diamante-dotted flowers don't align with our personal preferences. In the romantic comedy featuring Rachel McAdams's character, Paige, who experiences amnesia, the unconventional wedding gown is designed by Betsy Johnson.

32. Toula, My Big Fat Greek Wedding

When discussing on-screen weddings, it would be remiss not to mention Toula and her family from the beloved film My Big Fat Greek Wedding. This indie movie achieved remarkable success, ultimately becoming the highest-grossing romantic comedy in history. Toula's wedding dress is an enormous creation, showcasing a full train and veil. Adorned with pearls and delicate floral embroidery, the dress leaves Toula feeling like a "snow beast" upon seeing it. Naturally, the bride makes some adjustments to ensure she walks down the aisle in her perfect dress.

33. Margaret, The Proposal

Ah, the infamous wedding gown from the 2009 rom-com The Proposal! In the film, Sandra Bullock's character, Margaret, enters into a fake engagement with her assistant to avoid deportation. For their wedding, Margaret dons a vintage family heirloom gown made of ivory silk. However, it's clear that the dress leaves much to be desired. The period-style dress features a high neck, dolman sleeves, and diamond detailing at the bust. While the dress is later tailored to fit Margaret's body, it still fails to captivate as a stunning wedding gown. Additionally, the gown's overall design leans toward modesty rather than making a grand statement. It's safe to say that this particular dress might not be everyone's idea of a gorgeous wedding ensemble.

34. Dorothy, The Golden Girls

There has been speculation among fans of the sitcom The Golden Girls about whether the show's stylist had a dislike for actress Bea Arthur, considering the less-than-ideal on-screen outfits she wore. This sentiment was particularly pronounced when it came to her character Dorothy's wedding dress, which garnered significant backlash, and rightfully so. While Dorothy's character often sported eccentric and vibrant ensembles on the show, her wedding dress stands out as particularly unattractive. Its most glaring flaw is undoubtedly the peculiar V-shaped neck ruffle, resembling something a child might fashion out of craft paper. The design choice did not do justice to the elegance one would expect from a wedding gown.

35. Joy, What Happens in Vegas

It seems that Cameron Diaz's characters have had their share of questionable wedding attire in several films. In What Happens in Vegas, more than a decade after My Best Friend's Wedding, Diaz's character Joy finds herself in yet another peculiar wedding ensemble. In this comedy, Joy hastily marries Ashton Kutcher's character in an impromptu and unplanned ceremony. For the occasion, Joy dons a silk jersey dress paired with not just one, but two garter belts, and adorns herself with multiple pearl necklaces. To add to the mix, she accessorizes this casual attire with a floor-length veil. The overall result can only be described as a mishmash of styles and elements. While certainly unconventional, it aligns with the comedic and unexpected nature of the film's plot.

36. Juliet, Love Actually

Evidently, feathers seem to be a favored option when it comes to wedding dresses, as here's another example. This particular gown consistently finds its place on lists of unattractive on-screen wedding dresses, and for valid reasons. In a lively romantic comedy, Keira Knightley's character ties the knot wearing a sheer ensemble adorned with feathers. Interestingly, director Richard Curtis initially envisioned Juliet wearing a two-piece outfit, but the costume designer for the film held a different opinion. Consequently, they settled on this feather-trimmed attire, which, as one might expect, was complemented by even more feathers in Keira's up-do.

37. Lillian, Bridesmaids

The 2011 comedy Bridesmaids held significant importance for women in the comedy genre. Penned and led by Kristen Wiig, the film revolves around the wedding of Maya Rudolph's character, Lillian. Throughout the movie, there are numerous uproarious moments, one of which occurs when Lillian tries on her supposedly flawless Parisian gown. In truth, the dress turns out to be a nightmare in terms of its appearance. Its numerous tightly layered ruffles bear an uncanny resemblance to toilet paper, while the long, exaggerated sleeves evoke images of a Spanish bullfighter. And let's not forget about that headpiece—words fail to adequately describe it.

38. Aria, Pretty Little Liars

Here's another example of a casual wedding dress, as we mentioned earlier. Leading up to the big event, actress Lucy Hale was spotted wearing a long ivory wedding gown. However, the truth is that it wasn't particularly appealing. On her actual wedding day, Aria from Pretty Little Liars strolled down the aisle in a short Gem by Alexis dress. With its bell sleeves and crochet detailing, this mini dress gives off more of a Coachella vibe than a traditional church wedding. It's undeniably a cute dress, but perhaps not the ideal choice for a wedding gown.

39. Tamra, The Mindy Project

The rom-com TV series The Mindy Project revolved around the personal and professional life of gynecologist Mindy, offering glimpses into her world. One of the characters in her practice, nurse Tamra portrayed by actress Xosha Roquemore, eventually gets married on the show. While it's evident that Tamra makes a stunning bride, there are some aspects of her wedding dress that might be subject to critique. For instance, the hemline and silhouette of the gown could be seen as detracting from the bride's natural beauty. Additionally, the billowing sleeves may appear overly elaborate, and the waist could be cinched more for a more flattering fit. Overall, these details might be points of contention for some viewers, even though Tamra herself radiates beauty on her special day.

40. Cinderella, Once Upon a Time

After witnessing Snow White's wedding attire in Once Upon a Time, it's only fair to delve into what Cinderella wore on her special day. Princess Ella, in the season one episode, donned a rather shiny princess gown. While it closely resembles the iconic blue ballgown of the animated Disney character, it, unfortunately, appears somewhat inexpensive to our eyes. We apologize for the blunt assessment! The show's costume designer, Eduardo Castro, has mentioned the extensive number of wedding dresses created for the series, stating, "The number of wedding dresses we handle is beyond my counting abilities. It's possible that Cinderella needed multiple outfit changes to ensure she maintained a fresh and captivating appearance throughout her remarkable journey.

41. Giselle, Enchanted

While we don't necessarily hold a grudge against voluminous princess dresses, these on-screen gowns take extravagance to a whole new level. We certainly appreciate a graceful ballgown, but we draw the line at dresses that resemble colossal meringue desserts, capable of housing an entire house. In the case of Gisele's massive wedding gown in Enchanted, Amy Adams disclosed the challenges she faced. She mentioned that the wardrobe team responsible for dressing her had to bear the burden of carrying that enormous creation around. In fact, the dress was so cumbersome that she couldn't even get dressed in regular dressing rooms or trailers since it wouldn't fit through the door.

42. Daphne, Because I Said So

Frankly speaking, the sight of this dress fills us with intense anger. We witness fashion icon Diane Keaton, renowned for her impeccable style in trousers and suits, donning an atrocious white wedding dress. Within the context of a film described as the worst of 2007, Diane Keaton portrays Daphne, a domineering mother of three. Daphne's wedding ensemble consists of a long-sleeved, high-necked peplum jacket paired with a rigid, voluminous skirt. Regardless of one's perspective, it is undeniably revolting.

43. Amy, The Secret Life of the American Teenager

After observing this dress, it's necessary for us to take a moment to regain composure. Presenting Shailene Woodley as Amy Juergens, the central character in The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Within the series, Amy grapples with an array of challenges, including her teenage pregnancy. Now, turning our attention to the dress, although it may be difficult to do so. It is a white, multi-layered maxi dress worn atop a tank top, accompanied by a lengthy scarf. Undeniably, this wedding ensemble embodies the epitome of noughties fashion.

44. Hannah, Made of Honor

There exists a delightful subset of romantic comedies where Americans find themselves tying the knot with charming Irish, Scottish, or even Welsh heartthrobs, each blessed with captivating accents. In Made of Honor, a handful of the charismatic doctors from Grey's Anatomy vie for the affections of Michelle Monaghan's character, Hannah. And what better way to establish the Scottish setting than by having the bride wear an actual tartan sash? However, it's important to note that this isn't a customary practice in the United Kingdom. Hannah's gown features an unappealing ruffled skirt, and her hairstyle is excessively voluminous, towering above her head.

45. Lorelai, Gilmore Girls

We understand that Lorelai Gilmore holds a special place in the hearts of many as a beloved TV mom. However, we cannot support her choice of an ill-fitting blush wedding gown. In the comedy-drama series, Lorelai stumbles upon this blush silk tulle gown in the first store she enters, created by Monique Lhullier. The gown boasts an intricately embroidered bodice. Perhaps if the skirt of this blush gown had a straighter silhouette, it would have been more flattering on Lorelai. We believe she would have benefited from a wedding dress with a more chic and refined silhouette that complements her style better.

46. Blair, Gossip Girl

Blair Waldorf's initial wedding gown has ignited a wave of indignation among fans. While some may argue that the dress itself isn't inherently offensive, the main issue lies in the fact that Blair, the epitome of Upper East Side style and drama, would choose such a gown. She is known for her affinity for ribbons, crystals, and ruffles, which makes this white Vera Wang gown a surprising choice. Adding to the dissatisfaction, Blair's hairstyle featured crispy-looking waves. Fortunately, Blair would eventually realize her misstep and grace another aisle wearing a stunning blue Elie Saab gown, redeeming herself in the eyes of many.

47. Marie, When Harry Met Sally

Carrie Fisher, may she rest in peace, undoubtedly brought her charm to the iconic romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally. In the film, she delivers a memorable line to Meg Ryan's character. However, in her own character Marie's wedding scene, Carrie Fisher's character wears a wedding dress that is reminiscent of the 1980s. When Marie eagerly seeks Sally's opinion on the gown, Sally can't help but respond with a simple, Oh, Marie. The dress choice seems to evoke a certain reaction from Sally, implying that it might not be the most favorable or stylish choice.

48. Allison, Grace and Frankie

Occasionally, brides choose to embrace a vintage aesthetic for their wedding dress, opting for elements such as long lacy sleeves, a high ruffled neck, or a beautiful line of antique pearl buttons. Vintage gowns can be absolutely breathtaking, but unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the dress worn by Allison on the sitcom Grace and Frankie. As aptly pointed out by Briana on the show, the dress gives off a rather morbid vibe, resembling something that "a dead child was buried in, in the 1800s." Furthermore, it evokes the image of frilly outfits worn by eerie dolls, adding to its unsettling appearance.

49. Susan, Desperate Housewives

While we hold great affection for the show, we must confess our strong aversion towards Susan Delfino, and let's face it, we're not alone in this sentiment. Throughout the series, this exasperating character embarked on multiple marriages, all the while sporting quintessential fashion of the 2000s. The custom-made Cate Adair dress she wore epitomizes the trends of that era, particularly with its handkerchief hem. The attire gives off the impression of something you might casually wear while lounging by the pool. Granted, it was a simple backyard wedding, but we yearned for a tad more of the "wow" factor in the overall look.

50. Snow White, Once Upon a Time

It's time to discuss yet another fairy tale gown that fell short of expectations. In the fantasy drama Once Upon a Time, a multitude of fairy tale characters coexist within two different worlds. When Ginnifer Goodwin's Snow White marries Prince Charming, she dons a white, feathery, full-length wedding gown. While we acknowledge that this gown was designed for a fantastical setting, we can't help but question whether it was the ideal choice for Snow White. Personally, we would have preferred to see her in something more timeless and classic.
