Mom of the monarch
Prior to the Queen ascending to the position of Queen Mother as we know her, she was a sweet little girl by the name of Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon. Here is a rare photo of Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon in 1909, when she was a young child learning the curtsy. She was nine years old when the photo was shot.
The Queen Mother was Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon, one of ten children. She was the youngest daughter and the ninth child overall. When Elizabeth was a little child, she loved to explore Glamis Castle and St. Paul's Walden.

Those Women
Three years into King George and Queen Elizabeth's marriage, Elizabeth, the Duchess of York, was born. Four years later, Princess Margaret Rose, the royal couple's second daughter, was born. The Queen Mother found it difficult to leave her children since she felt so linked to them.
When King George and the Queen Mother traveled to Australia to launch Canberra's new Parliament building, Elizabeth was "very upset" about leaving the infant behind.

Sisters or closest friends
Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, was an unpopular member of the royal family. She fell in love with Group Captain Peter Townsend, who was still married to his wife at the time, as soon as World War II was over.
After divorcing his wife in 1952, Townsend asked Margaret to marry him. The church in England, however, prevented her from getting married to a divorced man. She later broke off her engagement to Townsend and married photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones. Sadly, they got divorced after 18 years of marriage. She supposedly had a number of additional relationships following her divorce.

Happy Duchess
Throughout World War II, she helped the British people's morale a great deal. Many people recommended Elizabeth to leave England and stay in North America with her children during World War II. But Elizabeth had no intention of going anywhere.
The woman vehemently refuted the advice, saying, "The kids won't leave unless I do. I won't leave until their father does because the King will never, ever leave the country.

Friendly sisters
A tight bond was established between Princess Margaret and Queen Elizabeth. Even the names they gave one other were endearing. Princess Margaret gave her the moniker "Lilibet." In an interview with Vanity Fair, Reinaldo Herrera discussed the special relationship between Elizabeth and Margaret.
Rarely do they break apart! Even after they split up, grew up, and moved into separate houses, the sisters took care to stay in touch. The sisters had a direct line of communication between Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace.

Her passion in life
Princess Elizabeth had a passionate relationship with Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh, while she was just a teenager. She had been in love with him since she was 13 years old, despite the fact that he was her distant cousin!
Many people thought they made a surprising couple because they were such opposites. Prince Phillip was forthright and expressed his mind, whilst Princess Elizabeth was much more reserved. The two royals were ready to get married because their opposing personalities balanced each other out.

A rare portrait
The image below shows a rare portrait of Princess Elizabeth from 1950, maybe shot when she was expecting Princess Anne. Two years after Prince Charles' birth, Princess Anne was born.

Princess
Before she became Queen Elizabeth II, she never imagined she would take the throne. Because her father, Prince Albert, was the second son of King George V, she was free to grow up as Princess Elizabeth without the pressure of becoming the ruler of Great Britain. When her father succeeded her uncle as king in 1936, the course of her life underwent a significant change.

Princess Elizabeth
There was a lot of discussion about Elizabeth and Phillip's relationship. Many believed that Phillip and the Princess weren't the right fit. Elizabeth and Phillip decided to take the surname Windsor after their marriage at London's Westminster Abbey.
Elizabeth's mother and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill ardently wanted the couple to take the name despite Phillip's resistance. This put a lot of pressure on Phillip, but they still decided to use the name.

Wedding
Elizabeth's father, King George, was concerned about the wedding since Prince Phillip lacked a number of qualities of a man who would marry into the family. Phillip was not extremely wealthy, but he had connections to the Danish and Greek royal families.
Despite strong resistance, Princess Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh were married in 1947 at Westminster Abbey in London. Due to the fact that World War II's consequences were still being felt in Great Britain, Elizabeth had to collect coupons in order to pay for the fabric for her wedding dress.

Baby Time
The couple, Princess Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, had kids right away. The birth of Prince Charles occurred in 1948, not long after the wedding. Charles was baptized in the Music Room of the palace by Archbishop of Canterbury Geoffrey Fisher. Princess Elizabeth, who was only 22 years old at the time, gave birth to Prince Charles.
Just one month before Charles was born, the King granted letters patent. The King's decision allowed Princess Elizabeth's children to use the title of prince or princess even if their father was not a royal prince.

Elizabeth and Phillip were on their way to Kenya in 1952 when she received news that her father had passed suddenly and that she would need to begin her throne succession immediately. Following Queen Mary's demise in 1953 and the British Prime Minister's resignation in 1955 Finally, Phillip's children's last names were altered to Mountbatten. Charles and Anne
In 1952, Prince Charles, at three years old, replaced King George VI as heir to the throne. Growing up at Buckingham Palace was, to put it mildly, an unusual experience.
As the heir to the monarchy, Prince Charles, now known as The Duke of Cornwall, was anticipated to appear in public more frequently. Even as a young child, Prince Charles attended Westminster Abbey to witness his mother's coronation. As he became older, he attended a pre-preparatory school, Gordonstoun in Scotland, Cheam School in Berkshire, and eventually boarding school.

Queen Elizabeth II
As the monarch of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, and Ceylon, Queen Elizabeth II succeeded her father on June 2, 1953. Her inauguration was held in Westminster Abbey. After her father's death at the young age of 25, she inherited the kingdom.
The King's family was given time to grieve because the ceremony wasn't held for more than a year after his passing. Otherwise, celebrating a feast shortly after a king or queen died would have been regarded as unseemly.

The Queen's Christmas
Here is a sweet photo of Queen Elizabeth and her two sons, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, taken around Christmastime in 1971. Every Christmas, Queen Elizabeth delivers a speech that is broadcast to the Commonwealth of Nations.
King George V started the tradition in 1932, and Queen Elizabeth has continued it. These days, her message is broadcast on radio, TV, and of course the internet. Her 2016 speech's ultimate topic was "inspiration." She also took the time to recognize the British Olympians' accomplishments.

Ronald Reagan with The Queen
The fact that 11 US Presidents have held office during the Queen's reign is astounding. After obtaining a formal invitation from the Queen and Margaret Thatcher in December 1981, Regan traveled to the UK in June 1982 for just two days.
While on vacation, Regan went to Windsor Castle, one of the Queen's homes. Given that the Queen likes to ride horses, it makes natural that the two went horseback riding together.

Change of the Name
Around the time Elizabeth moved into Buckingham Palace after the death of her father, many people thought the royal family would take her husband's name and change its name to the House of Mountbatten.
Unfortunately, Queen Mary and the British Prime Minister at the time, Winston Churchill, insisted that Elizabeth keep her father's last name and continue to be a member of the House of Windsor. Her husband Phillip was enraged by this. Phillip said that he was the only man in the nation who was prohibited from naming his own children.

Timepieces 2
Princess Diana was one of the first princesses to pay attention to fashion; she made a statement with each piece of jewelry she wore. It's incredibly romantic that Princess Diana wore two wristwatches. Lady Di made her debut in July 1981 while watching a polo match at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor, England, with Prince Charles, who was then her fiancé.
She wore Charles' watch "as a respect to him and to wish him luck in the match" while wearing her own watch. She didn't wear two watches to keep track of various time zones. How beautiful!

Divorce
Despite the family's responsibility to retain the royal name, Princess Diana wanted her sons to experience childhood differently from most other royal kids. Due to her need for routine, Diana took her children to Walt Disney World and McDonald's.
Princess Diana also thought it was important to expose her sons to others who had less privileged lives. She would take her kids to AIDS clinics and homeless shelters. Additionally, she would buy them video games and other typical teen accoutrements.

Over the years, Prince William and Prince Harry have become close. They are terrific buddies in addition to being close brothers. They enjoy a range of activities together.
As a break from leading the regal life, they like going for rides on motorcycles together. The brothers are equally committed to their separate humanitarian projects. It's interesting to note that the royal siblings exhibit very little sibling rivalry, which is rather uncommon. Both boys are quite proud of one another's accomplishments.
